'EMBERS IN THE NIGHT: A NEW FOLKLORE OF WAR'
[Dir. Whitehall, Co-Produced with Brucke, 2018, Short Film, Super 16mm, 8:58 min, b/w]
‘Embers In the Night’ depicts how the divisive nature of conflict cultivates the targeting of specific groups, the physical assault upon them, and the desperate measures taken by the living in order to ensure survival.
We are motivated to contribute to the folklore of war, to dialogue with its imagery and explore how these realities make us feel. This intimate portrayal provides the essential confrontation between the individual viewer and their own spiritual and moral truths when it comes to the perils of prejudice and hate.
